On Sunday 25th July, the inaugural Tatiara Healthy Living Expo was held in the Mundulla Hall, bringing together the best of the Tatiara’s Natural Health Practitioners, natural products and foods, advice on creating healthy homes and other related activities, such as personal training.

The Honourable David Ridgway MLC, officially opened the event and spoke of how Natural Therapy had assisted his father-in-law and perhaps even extended his life.

Guest speaker Ian Flay, an Adelaide based Naturopath, gave a one hour talk on blood related issues and disorders, successfully holding the attention of the crowd right to the end.

Twenty-two stall holders were thrilled with the turnout of over two hundred people during the day. They included Margaret Rowett – reflexology, Fulwood Bowen and Massage therapy, Paul Stokes – Theta Therapy, Melissa Kaye Health and Well Being, Kerrie Cleggett – RMHF Remedial Massage, Face Place and Rose Rodda – Reiki, all from Bordertown.

Food throughout the day was provided by the Mundulla General Store and Henry and Rose from Keith, who both had a delicious range of healthy treats available.

Other food and produce stalls on site were Rachel Rogers and Wade Neumann with an amazing array of organic preserves, Dee Provis with Pendleton Olive Oils, Liz Ballingers Teatrick Lavender Estate, Lockhart Almonds and Champion Juicer Sales.

Coredynamix from Keith had an extensive range of exercise equipment and dietary supplements, whilst Visible Effects Make Up had a great presentation of natural make up.

Linda and Mick Anderson provided in depth information about straw bale housing and to top it all off, the Breast Feeding Association, Community Health Department and SELGA Sport and Recreation, were also present.

Blue Lake Milling were the major sponsor of the event and had complimentary bags of oats available to any who wished to take one. Their contribution was invaluable, as was the support of all who provided sponsorship to the event.

Overall it was a very successful day that most certainly has raised the profile of the Tatiara’s Natural Health industry. This industry has grown substantially in the district in the past few years, which is in line with world wide trends, as Natural Health is currently one of the biggest growth industries in the world, going from strength to strength.
