Noisy Music

On Friday afternoon Police attended an address in Fourth Street Keith, in relation to noisy music.  The occupant was cautioned in relation to excessive noise and the music was turned down.

On Saturday afternoon Police attended an address in Ross Avenue, Keith in relation to noisy music.  The occupants were cautioned and the music turned down.

Residents are reminded that noise, including music, is not to interfere with the enjoyment of persons lawfully residing in the area, irrespective of the time of day.

Fires

In the early hours of Sunday morning Police attended a fire in the rear yard of  premises in Fourth Street, Keith.  It is believed that a male known to police lit the fire, however he was not present when Police attended the address.  Further enquiries are being made.

On Monday afternoon 1st February Police attended a fire on the Dukes Highway, near Wolseley.  Approximately 1 ½ hectares of stubble was burnt.  Two CFS Appliances and several private units attended and extinguished the blaze.  It is believed that the fire was caused by a mechanical fault on the machinery that was working in the paddock at the time.  Due to the operators of the machinery being adequately prepared and quick thinking, minimal damage was caused. It is to be remembered however, that working machinery outside in very hot weather is a high risk activity.

Break and Enter Offences

Over the weekend of the 30th and 31st of January 2010, the Bordertown Golf Club was broken into.  Damage was caused inside the premises but nothing was taken.

Between 30th January and 31st January a shed on Glyde Street, Bordertown was broken into.  Stereo speakers and mag wheels were taken.

Between 1st January and 2nd January the same shed was broken into and further mag wheels were taken.

Drink Driver

On Tuesday 2nd February Police reported a 41 year old Bordertown female for exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol.  The female was stopped on Golf Course Road Bordertown, for a mobile random breath test.  It is alleged she produced a reading of 0.104.  Her vehicle was impounded for 7 days, and she received a 6 month loss of licence.

Reports/Arrests

On Friday 30th January 2010 windows were broken on a shed at the Bordertown Primary School.  Police have since interviewed and reported two 13 year old Bordertown males for the damage.

On Wednesday 3rd February Police reported a 40 year old Keith male for driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle on Emu Flat Road, Keith.  As this offence was a subsequent offence for the male, his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

On Wednesday 3rd February Police arrested an 18 year old Bordertown male for making a false report, after he provided Police with a statement in December, the contents of the statement since being found to be false.

On Friday 5th February Police arrested a 15 year old Bordertown male for aggravated assault with a weapon, after an incident on Thursday 4th February.  It is alleged the male struck his brother with a pitch fork several times.

On Friday night 5th February, Police reported a 19 year old male for misuse of a motor vehicle, after he produced a 45 metre burnout on Creecoona Terrace, Bordertown.  It is alleged the male was frustrated after his vehicle was defected.  The vehicle was then further defected and impounded for 7 days.

Station Closed

From Sunday 14th February 2010, until Thursday 18th February 2010, the Bordertown Police Station will be closed for maintenance.  The Police Station phones will be diverted to Mount Gambier Police Station. Bordertown Police will still be patrolling Bordertown.

Local police apologise for any inconvenience which may be caused by this urgent maintenance however the public are reminded that if Police attendance is required to ring 131 444.
