Bordertown and Keith Police News 20th July 2009

On Sunday 12 th July 2009 a 40 year old Bordertown male was arrested for breaching his bail conditions. A 26 year old Mundulla female was also reported for aid/abet breach of bail conditions. Both will appear in the Bordertown Magistrates Court at a later date.

On Wednesday 15 th July 2009 Police arrested a 29 year old Wolseley female on a first instant warrant. The female was bailed to attend Bordertown Magistrates Court at a later date.

On Wednesday 15 th July 2009 Police issued an expiation notice to a 66 year old Brighton male for exceeding the speed limit and disobeying a reasonable direction. It is alleged the male was exceeding the speed limit by 17km/hr. Police pursued the male for 12km before stopping him with the assistance of other patrols. The public are reminded that there are two reasons that a Police vehicle will display red and blue lights. The first reason is they are trying to stop you, the second is they are on their way to an incident which requires immediate Police attention. Both incidents require members of the public to slow and move off the road.

On Tuesday 14 th July a 37 year old Bordertown male was driving his car when it collided with a fence on the intersection of Cannawigara Road and Meat works Road, Bordertown. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

On Friday night Bordertown Police received information of a drink driver on the Dukes Highway at Bordertown. Police located the vehicle and the 43 year old female driver from Normanville was issued with an expiation notice for exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol. The female was in a lower class reading, and as such did not received an immediate loss of licence or have her vehicle impounded. Bordertown Police thank the member of the public for their information.

On Saturday night 18 th July 2009 Bordertown Police arrested a 43 year old Bordertown male for assault and property damage after an incident on Baker Street. The male remained in custody overnight before getting bail to appear at a later date.

On Saturday night Bordertown Police arrested a 29 year old Keith male for aggravated assault after a domestic disturbance.

On Saturday night Bordertown Police issued a Bordertown male with a cannabis expiation notice for possessing equipment.

In the early hours of Sunday morning Bordertown Police reported a Bordertown male for failing to cease loiter after being removed from a licence premises.

Bordertown Police have issued numerous expiation notices for the last few weekends in relation to members of the public consuming or possessing liquor in the dry zone. These fines are worth $190 each.
