On Wednesday 1st July, the Bordertown Junior Karate Club held its mid year
grading. Ten juniors were graded through their skills by Sensei Robyn Miles
and Sensei Ann-Elisa Pickering, with other club members providing
assistance.
After being unable to grade at the end of last year as she was overseas,
Patricia Garcia was awarded her black belt and now holds the rank of junior
Shodan Ho.
Tilly Wigney graded very well and was moved from white to blue belt, jumping
over two grades in recognition of her skill. Natasha Horne also received her
blue belt, moving from yellow and skipping orange. Charlie Watts, Jake
McCallum, Jake Turnbull, Joe Watts and Paris Pickering all showed good focus
and graded from yellow to orange belt. Brodie Schulz and Anna Crafter both
showed good determination and received their yellow belts.
All students showed good training discipline and all graded to the best of
their ability.
