Fourth Annual Tatiara Art Awards

The Exhibition in the Council Chambers Walkway Gallery, was opened by Mr James Darling on Friday evening the 12th September, 2008.

A large and interested audience enjoyed the seventy-one vastly differing exhibits in the four Open categories and the two Student divisions.

Prize winners were announced by Mr Darling midway through the opening night, with an interesting and lengthy discourse on his choices.

They were:

Winner of the Open Best Acrylic/Oil, Rose Milton's Riomaggiore, prize of $250 sponsored by Box Farm Stockfeeds.

Winner of the Open Best Watercolour, Alice Tink's Coorong , prize of $250 sponsored by Bordertown Chinese Restaurant and Dunalan.

Winner of the Open Best Abstract, Tessie Gaskell's Revolving Forms, prize of $250 sponsored by Bordertown Hardware.

Winner of the Open Best Pastel, Other Work on Paper, Dagny Strand's View from Mt Shank , prize of $250 sponsored by Wild Mulberry Garden Centre.

Winner of the Best Student Work Year 11-12, Sam Rasmusen's, Self Portrait , prize of $100 sponsored by Tatiara Seeds.

Winner of the Best Student Work Year 6-10, Trinda Creaser's, Shy Beyond the doorway, prize of $50 sponsored by McCarthy Transport, Mundulla Hosted Accomodation and Blackwell's Plumbing.

People's Choice awards close at 5pm on Friday 26th September and will be announced following the close of the exhibition.
